I said I was going to blog soon, and, I basically didn't. Now, I don't know about the first..well, months? But, lately I just didn't feel like it, with all sorts of stuff going on.
But!
I'm certainly going to keep my promise, on writing about Cherrybomb, eventhough it's ages ago now since I've seen it, but I'll do my best!
I had been looking forward to this movie for ages, since ofcourse it stars my favorite redhead, mister Rupert Grint.
I heard it was pretty 'extreme', with all the booze and drugs and whatnot, so I was pretty excited!
Finally the day came when the movie was all mine to see and I was supposed to watch it with a friend, but ofcourse, I couldn't wait. So there I was, in the middle of the night, laptop in bed, watching Cherrybomb! And...well...I fell asleep.
Not because it was bad! But because I was really, really tired.
So, next day, second try, with my roommate. I absolutely loved it, but somehow we missed the 'sexy' part, because we were talking too much.
So, next day, third try, and this time I saw the whole thing! I still loved it, ofcourse, and now I didn't miss a second of it, yay!
Alright, enough about me, let me tell you about the movie. IMDB's plotline for Cherrybomb:
Three teenagers go on a wild weekend of drink, drugs, shop-lifting and stealing cars that quickly spins beyond their control.
To be completely honest, I don't remember anything about shoplifting, but that could just be me.
There's Malachy (Rupert), Luke (Robert Sheehan) and the new girl in town, daughter of the sport's complex manager/owner, Michelle (Kimberley Nixon).
The guys are really into her, and get in a lot of problems because of her. I'm not going to tell you all, since you have to see it yourself.
There's a lot of drama, alcohol, drugs, 'sex' (not really, but..kinda), and in the end someone dies.
It wasn't really 'realistic', and it wasn't all that extreme, but all in all a very good movie.
What bothered me a tiny bit was that yet again, Rupert got to play the 'goody-two-shoes' type. Now I know, with all the drugs, boozing, getting into a shitload of trouble, that's not exactly what you call goody-two-shoes, but out of the three, he was.
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this one, and I'm sure you will too!
This was a bit short, I know, and I'm sorry. I had planned to put a lot of effort in to this, but it's ages ago now that I've watched it, and memory lacks, well, memory.
I am going to blog more, the next one will probably be tomorrow, so please, if you're still there, don't forget me! *wink*
Love,
Renate
